I guess there is still too much fresh water coming down the delta for the shrimp to fight their way back up there, and so I guess the trout that normally chase said shrimp won't be heading that way either. Even the bay still looks like chocolate milk. These fish gotta be somewhere. Anybody got any intel they can afford to pass along?
all around the marinas, and boat docks up river. You'll probably catch more green trout than anything else.Good Luck and let us know.....Live shrimp on a cane pole!!!
In dog river, under the bridge and in the marina area. Weather permitting, I'm going to go to the bender/austal reef and try.... Then back to dog river... The fishing is supposed to be premium this weekend if the weather permits. I've also had good luck on the shrimp boat reef right out of coffee island, I lost a stud spanish last weekend there free lining live shrimp.
10/26/09 This fish are still there, but the water color is terrible. I've been out the last 3 days just outside Dog River, fishing the birds on a falling/slack tide late afternoon. For a distance maybe half way to Gillard Island, look from McNalley Park North to the Home Port South for the flocks of diving sea gulls. The fish are small, but I took my wife out yesterday and she caught specks & white trout on a popping cork nearly as fast as she could cast. This vastly rased her opinion of her own fishing proficiency .
yep same story over on the eastern shore, caught all the whites we wanted on birds over by the Grand Hotel Sunday, few specks that were big enough to keep, plenty of fish to fry up and watch the saints comeback. The water looks terrible hopefully it will get better soon. Im gonna go try for some bulls in pensacola pass this weekend!
