It’s been a while since my last report so this will cover the past month or so. The fishing continues to be great! I’m always amazed with the fishing over here, it never seems to slow down, not for long at least. The tuna bite continues to be great, amberjack are still committing suicide, a couple of nice late season dolphin are showing themselves, and the billfish are still showing themselves as well. Some of the highlights have been 800+ lb marlin trying to eat 60 lb yellowfin off our line 5 feet from the boat, schools of whale sharks loaded up with both yellow and blackfin tuna, and tuna bites so good doubles and triples were the norm not the exception. One of our captains Kevin Beach caught that huge marlin just a couple of days ago he estimated it at around 900#. I even caught a 100# tuna out of a school of open water porpoise which was my first. In the Pacific people look for porpoise to find the tuna but here they are typically more of a nuisance.
The average size of the tuna seems to be getting a little larger and that trend should continue I expect to see 150+ pounders start hitting the dock any day now. The wahoo should start to show up in force sometime in October as well. October and November have always been my favorite months, cooler temperatures and a large variety of cooperative fish. What’s there not to love?

Look at that perfect hook placement. Gotta love a Mustad!
Sorry for the small number of pictures but I forgot my camera on the boat with the past three weeks worth of pictures.
We have some open weekdays in October and even some weekends in November so give us a call to get your day on the water.
