Went to the weigh-in last night and nobody topped the #1 Blue Marlin or the top YF. Both number one Wahoo and Mahi fell last night with the top Mahi at 49 lbs and the top Wahoo at 67 lbs if I recall correctly. Couple of other quick items. One boat tagged a large spearfish, if the length number was close then it was most probably a female. Finally, one boat was working the nipple in Desoto canyon and reported a LARGE Great White shark. Look out FL panhandle!! The captain had 20 years experience fishing offshore, and estimated the head width at 4 feet and the body length at 20 feet. He also stated it was the largest shark he had ever seen.

I hear that Ms Celest went half way to Cancun. I guess if you have a 100' plus sport fisherman you can do that stuff

Im not familiar with the calcutta in the classic...but many tournys
which have them have different buy in levels.. say 100, 500, 1000,
5000.... usually depends on how many people get in the calucutta
at your level...... course is could just be a single buy in level......

Howdy - the 631 lb Marlin (and 1st place tuna) was caught at the Deepwater Nautilus (110 miles SE of Port Eads) which happened to be in a cyclone just north of Titanic Eddy.
The same boat (Miss Celeste) went back to the Nautilus for the Emerald Coast Tournament this weekend and caught the top tuna (191 lbs). The top (and only Marlin weighed) was caught near the Spur in a cyclone that appreared Thursday morning.
All the best,
Tom Hilton
