Charlie and me fish pretty regularly but every now and then we let Capt. Eddie go with us so we can update him on the new techniques we have developed. So, the forecast for this last wed was perfect, 5 to 10kts, 1-2 foot. It was obvious to our in-house forecast team this was wrong but we had to go anyway because the stupid people who make up the obviously ridiculous forecasts just would not change. So what choice did we have, they wouldn't change, so Tuesday we drove down to VM thru storms all the way, I thought, I just can't believe how stupid the weather service is, so our ass kicking tomorrow will be all their fault. Besides, Eddie would have been heart broken not see "how we do it". Oh well, lets eat some spaghetti and get an early start. Next AM as we approached SP the river had a 1' chop, well there was the 1' part of the fcast. We didn't find the 2', they were close enough, approaching the buoy we throttled back tabbed down all the way and trimmed engine under. Looks like a head sea in all directions, no wait it's coming mostly SE, OK, we have our heading to our first stop, SE. Ah, we made it, sharks, shoot! Not to worry seas are still there waiting for our next charge at them, ah made that too, 1 stinking little YF, well he's a keeper we're golden now, we are skunk proof. Sea's a getting a little more angry, time to go flatten some more waves. Our "fish close in" game plan is now in the crapper, Charlie is now in charge of our destiny, he will not waver, he has no idea where we are going as he is totally blind by about a gallon a minute salt water flow into his face. Finally we get where we ain't going no more, this must be the place.
We get a couple of cudas to start because Charlie, still blind, doesn't notice notice how close we are to the rig. His vision returns we get in the spot and two hours later it's 1pm and we are done, 15yf, 12 between 28"-30" no throw backs? and two decent ones 60-70lbs another smallish one.
Head north for some deep drops, while rigging up the electrics Eddie is looking for yf's and put out a live ht, about 2-3 seconds as he lets go of the line 20 lb bull, by the time the electrics are rigged ,sadly the bull's wife was killed too. Heck, that is sad.
So we divide up into deep-drop teams, I'm on the Joe team Charlie and Eddie on the Pro , they score first then they are crying like girls about the electric reel won't work, next it's weight, they want a bigger weight next it was the sharks that they needed help with meantime, my boys, the Joes WIN!! 40lb AJ. Down sea to SW up to and into Tiger. Done!

Yeah Red, that's why I took the pictures, those crack shots hurt! I must say that while running around litterally blind, we noticed our plotter was taken out, another bad gaft shot I think, no worries, switched to our back up Venice boys BCT system (beer can trail) only thing, we could not make it back to SP as the wind and seas had pushed the cans way to the west causing us to turn up at SW pass on the return. We were arguing about which away was north earlier in the day but the BCT never lies. Well in spite of not so good seas, we passed good time.
