Default Trout trip 9/21/09

Made a trip out of Reggio yesterday with my brother. When we lift the landing, the tide was still coming in. Not good,so we change plans and headed out to the back side of the island. First stop was the twin pipeline, fishing a point off a bay. We picked up a few nice trout with a bunch of small trout on plastics. The tide had just started dropping. No live bait,it was time to throw the castnet on some mullet. After picking up a few,we set up anchor in the middle of the pipeline canal in about 5' of water fishing the mullets free line which produced some real nice trout up to 4lbs. Once we ran out of the levies, back to plastics. By then, nothing was hitting on top,so we start throwing plastics and everything else in the box. Jackpot once we found what color they wanted. With the tide ripping, using a 1/4 oz head with a bluemoon H&H tail casing up current and bouncing it off the bottom,a trout would hit it in a second. Hell,we must of caught more the 300 trout before filling our limits with real nice trout in the 2-4 lb class.

We were going to hit some ponds, but got a call from one of our sisters that our Momma had to go to the hospital and had to call it a day. I did have a camara, but the hands got to slimey and didn't want to screw it up. Maybe next trip.

Forgot. I didn't even see the first Teal, just a few Black Mallards.

any chance you could give me a couple tips on places close to Reggio marina to pick up a few trout. I just got in a lease down there, and hunt in my slow devil. would like to fish, but with how slow she runs, I need spots to be close to the marina.

Thanks
