It looks like clean green water's inside Cognac, 109, etc right now and blue water's pushed out to about 40 miles from S Pass. Maybe a decent line to the SE if the WX lets it form up. I'm trying to put together a last minute overnighter for tomorrow night right now. What day are you planning on being down?
Brother's going to come in from houston. We are also in the "planning stage" and it's looking like we'll be down early sat morning and do an overnighter sat-sun. Would love to meet you or even hook up while down there. I don't think fri -sat is an option for us since he has to come in from houston. also, last weather check (early this am) was better sat-sun. we'll be using a bud's camp down there.
Looks like we're going to head out tomorrow afternoon and should be back at VM mid morn/lunchish Saturday. Look for me at the marina and I'll give you the scoop. If ya'll leave before we get back in, I'm "Pas Bon" on 68...
How'd ya'll do? We unfortunately missed ya'll by about 15 minutes at HoP. We ended up with a decent box of fish after a pretty slow night. Could have literally sunk the boat with blackfin as usual but only kept about a dozen or so and two yellows. Big fish went about 110. The wind kept any lines from forming up while we were out, but I heard from another boat that it formed up real well just inside of Elf Saturday afternoon. I think they had 5 or so dolphin and a blue. Anyhow, hope ya'll wore 'em out...
We did ok. We took our time heading out and stopped here and there. Got to DT and the two boats there were getting ready to leave--- they each had 9 YF boated. We hooked up almost immediately and it took 2 of the pussies in my boat over an hour to land an 80-100 lber. They handed off the rod to each other 3 times each!!! They will NEVER hear the end of that one! By the time we boated that one it was dark and the bite was off. Like you, all the BF you wanted to clean. We threw most back but kept 5-10 of the biggest. Couldn't buy a YF in the morning. Headed back in around 11 am, saw a grass patch, decided to investigate. 1 little bitty triple tail.... and then a school of bull and cow dolphin swam up behind us to check us out. Ended up boating 3 bulls and a cow, 25-35 lbs each? I find it hard to guess weight on dolphin. Great weekend and great trip. Seas were calm Sunday morning and we cruised in at about 45 mph which was an easy pace in those seas. I really needed that trip! You were telling me you have about 150 hrs on your rebuild... well, I now have about 135 hrs on the motors I installed Sept of '07!!!!! That SUCKS.
