Default Pro Kat official

I just bought a documented 2001 28 Pro Kat Walkaround. I plan to us it for a 6 pack charter business. In order to keep it a documented vessel and use it for charter I need "build evidence" that it was made in the US. Usually you just call up the manufacturer and they provide a statement on company letterhead. Since Pro Kat is out of business, I'm looking for Mike Robinson ( former Pro Kat CEO) or other Pro Kat employee to provide this evidence. I can get a waiver for this requirement, however it cost $500 to apply for it.

I would appreciate any help on locating Mike or another former Pro Kat employee

Where does it say the vessel has to be documented to run a 6 pack ????If that's the case, a bunch of fellows in south Fl. running charters are in a bind...

Are they telling you that you need an inspection as well?? I though that was the whole point of OUPV 6 pack lic.?

Rick- Thanks for the information

All: According to the CG, all documented boats used for commercial purposes need to have a commercial endorsement. Commercial endorsements require US build verification( Jones Act) or a $500 waiver. I can de-document my vessel and register in NY State and be a legal charter. If I don't have to spend the $500 bucks for a waiver, I would like to keep the vessel documented. There is no inspection required for documentation.

You can try the internet search functions (white pages) for Mike Sr or Jr or for Blair. Might cost you $9.95 for the information, but even a street address will allow you to write the guys and see about getting some help.
OTOH, prepare to be ignored. If the company is bankrupt, then there might be legal reasons why they won't do anything on company letterhead anymore.
