The family is taking a trip to Cape san Blas late this month. I was wondering what the best bet woul be for fishing & maybe spearfishing. We will either have my V-20 wellcraft or my son-in-laws 20' key largo.

If this is your 1st trip to St Joe you're in for a TREAT!...go explore Cape San Blas...put in at state park and go look around in Port of St Joe...back side of cape is huge flats where you can pull up boat and wade around...see lots of marine life...be sure you got mask, fins & snorkle for everybody who likes that sort of thing...great place to be any time...especially when sea too rough on front(Gulf)side...out front you can troll for kings(buy some "dusters" and pull 'em around) or find grouper holes...you can put in at Indian Pass...store will show you how to rig up for TARPON! That ramp can sand up...I had to be towed out(no charge)...FWD is good idea there.

I got a Wellcraft V-20, too...'74 cuddie w/'86 150 Evinrude...perfect boat for that area...have you been on the Wellcraft V-20 site?

I sure have been to the web site that's a real testament to a great boat since they quit making them so long ago.

Thanks for the info, I've been to st joe before but never fished it too serious, I was wondering what was hot now & where the best spots were. Tarpon would be a blast!
