Default New to THT forum

Hello all,
Just bought my first boat last month (Bass Tracker) and I'm having an awesome time with it. Been fishing for a long time but decided to invest in something to get me to that "other world" of fishing. I alternate my fishing between local freshwater and Vermilion Bay, Louisiana saltwater (good Reds!).

Doing some research on Texas Saltwater fishing and hear of good spots in Rockport, Aransas and even Galveston.

Anyone have any recommendations for the Texas coast? I'm willing to drive the few hours to get there! Also, if you have recommendations, please keep in mind I have a bass boat

Thanks! Good to be here!

Jim S.

Jim,
There's a site called maybe Salty Texan that has a lot of info on fishing the east end of the state.
I went to Vermilion bay yesterday. I found moving, clear(fairly) water with bait in it so we set up to fish. After a half dozen under a foot gafftops we went home.

That's weird. We fished 4 mile cut off Intracoastal City and caught some 18 inch Gafftops and some 24 inch reds in the same area. The black drum were small but the croakers were enormous.

Maybe an off day?

Thanks for the Salty Texan info!
