Need help with the ID of the fish called ruby red lips. We caught a bunch today and didn't know the actual name or limit. They were at the I-10 bridge rubble site. They looked similar to a mangrove.

break that boat in boss!!!!! I think what you have are really big pinfish (best grouper bait in the world)...ive heard the big ones called ruby lips. get the hiltons i gave you and find a spot in 120+ feet deep and drop them down and hold on...big snapper and grouper!!!!! hows the boat?
Duuude, I've nevr gone 35 mph in 5-7 seas. Rides like a dream, never got a drop of water on us. We went 23 miles out a few days ago, to the Avocet, hooked into something that felt like it was bigger than our boat, fought it for 30-45 minutes then pop. we were some sore the next day. Fish all over the place looking at us. Went out today 13 miles, caught a red snapper 2 grouper and an undisclosed number of these Ruby lip fish, they look to be white grunt. No size no bag limit, we could have sunk the boat with em. two at a time Kids were about to start chumming so we had to leave. We should be back home the 13th

thanks....some of these guys on here are like old farts just sitting around bitchin about everything and contradicting everyone...drives me insane. Its one thing if you ask for advice or recommendations on gear, techniques, boats, motors...but the guy is enjoying his family vacation on his new boat....heck im jealous!!!!
I am not bitching, just the facts. I fish the I-10 Rubble. I know where it is located. It was not 5-7', Maybe 1-2'. 35mph in 5-7's sounds crazy. Buoy near the rubble said .7'-1' most all day.

Shut the F%$K up and leave the guy and his new boat alone. Hell, go find a pond up in Clinton MS. and do some perch jerkin or something to occupy your time. Thats one of the things thats wrong with the world today, people just cant leave other folks alone. Just my .02

We're laying back in the AC waiting for the blue water to move back in, we'll probably fire up in two weeks. We fished snapper/grouper a week last month and Eagle Lake for a week in June.
