We found this guy near FH-7. We tried to get a video of him eating a croaker or popping our balloon, but we were unsuccessful. He was in a pretty pissed off mood and didn't have the energy to put on a show.

My guess would be 5 feet. It was a cottonmouth. It was about 55 miles south of Pascagoula and about 35 miles from the closest land ( chandeleur).

We let him continue his float towards Florida. We thought about using him for bait. If we weren't on a mission to catch some serious fish I probably would have treble hooked him and dropped it down 130 feet.

I've got a video of it, but it is a .mov file and I can't edit it on this computer. Somebody said something dumb in the video and wants her comment edited before it hits YouTube.

You'll get alot more hits if you leave it in. Might even go viral.

Ha.. she didn't say anything bad. She was sea sick and wasn't thinking clearly while she was video taping. It is just a short clip.

It would have been cool to win a tournament with a 100 pound cobia caught on 5 foot cottonmouth!
