Leader, if you don't the power pro's small diameter will give you a tangled mess.

I have been going leader less and having better success...zero tangles so far with the oti jigs.
When using a leader I usually just do a double uni from braid to 100 lb mono. I literally could not get a fish to the boat using 80 lb. I use a saragosa with the drag upgrade...100 lb power pro...and a trevala xxh rod.

The fact that I have been landing fish tied straight to the braid leads me to believe that when using a leader...it is absolutely pointless to use fluoro. If they will hit a jig tied straight to braid...they should have no problem hitting a mono leader. Save your money

I think before answering one would need to take into consideration more factors. For bottom species you could probably go straight to the jig and be quite successful even though I like a mono leader. I don't know if this has any validity, but I like the mono leader for a little more stretch to prevent ripping the jig out of the fishes mouth and it acts as a shock absorber. For tuna during the day I would go with Floro even though some people think it's a waste of money. At night I would go straight but make sure your drag is backed off a bit to absorb shock.

My system:

Jigs that cost less than 9.00 = Mono or Floro Leader

Jigs that cost more than 9.00 = Straight to PowerPro

I use a mono leader to account for the shock when the fish hits, that PP will NOT stretch!

Def use a leader. The eye of the hook will eventually cut through the braid when fighting big fish on a jig.
