Headed out of Venice late morning Friday in search of tuna and phins.
Had the regular crew along with a special guest angler, Tunatic.
Started out making our limit of snapper after a whole 15 minutes. Man they are thick out there. Headed south and didn't find a blue rip until ~52 miles out

. Didn't see that one! Trolled the rip and picked up a few phins and all the bait you wanted. Headed to our first rig and didn't mark anything at first and nothing on the surface. Rolled around the rig a little closer to try some jigging and we started marking some nice fish close to the rig. Set some baits out and pretty much instantly hooked up. Put a nice 50# class fish in the boat. Second pass we doubled up. The fish were definitely hungry. We stayed out for awhile but i had to be back in N.O. to pick up a friend at the airport so i had a hard cutoff. So, we ended up with 6 yellows, a few phins, limit of snapper and left them biting.
