Default Fourchon 6/13

My dad and I headed out of Fourchon Saturday to jig some snapper and AJs. We cleared Belle Pass at 7 and were greeted with some confused seas all the way out. Limits were easy though as we picked up all the snapper we wanted in two stops and our AJ's came on a few drops with OTI jigs. Also caught the biggest white trout I've ever seen in my life. We did waste some time trying to finish off our snapper with some studs but the last few big fish never showed up. Back to the dock early enough to have the boat and fish cleaned in time to watch the Tigers.

I'm not sure what the trout weighed bc I didn't have a working scale. I'm guessing about 9 lbs though. I thought I had a small snapper before he broke the surface.

You should get that weighed. Should make the top ten. That's definitely the biggest white trout I've ever seen, by far!

Lol, the fish has already been cleaned. With the amount of white trout that we catch while jigging I figured it was no biggie, I regret that now! That's the second one I've caught in the same block in two weeks, but the first was about 2/3 that size. I guess I'm off to get another for the books

So I just google the records and that would have been a top five fish. Awesome! (Sarcastic and not at the same time)

Not to mention that most of the records are from the 70's. That would have been cool to add a current entry.

Really not sure on the length either. At the time I just thought "man that's a huge trout" and threw it in the box and kept on fishing.

The boards on the table are 8" wide I think, so going off of that and memory he's probably a good 24".
