 Fourchon 6-12/14
Calm seas of last weekend were a distant memory this weekend! Took mom fishing around Belle Pass Saturday afternoon. Picked up a nice mess of trout (specks and white) using the good ole shad rig.
Hit two rigs in Bay Marchand. Redfish were on fire! If you want to take somebody that doesn't get to fish alot and put them on some fish take them to Bay Marchand! Redfish from 20" up to about 15# are swarming!!!!! We released about 6 bulls and a few small ones not trying to catch them. Kept 2 small ones (in state waters). After that called it a day.
Sunday morning me, pops and Cody went back with a plan of limits of red snapper, mangrove or two and jigging for AJ's. Wind was blowing and had the gulf whipped up into a nasty 2-3' chop. Pounded out way out about 8 miles and called it quits. Fished one platform. Current ripping and not a nibble. Threw our livies away and headed home with our tail between our legs.
