I just moved to the Houston area and I am neeeding some numbers or books with them. I have been told that there are a few people that publish books for this area with gps numbers in them. I think one person's name is "Rick" something?
go over to fishing tackle unlimited in houston & pick up a hilton's offshore atlas for the area you want
cgrand,
I have a few on Tom Hilton's maps and they are good maps. I was told about a gentleman buy the name of "Rick" that also has a very good book full of numbers but I don't know anything else about it or him. I am new to the area and I am really wanting to get out and get to know the texas gulf coast and the area offshore. Thanks for your help.
Thats the one I was looking for. Your a life saver. I could not remember his name to save my life. One last question can I get this book in a store somewhere or just on line? I am looking to go this weekend ( if the weather will me) and I would like to hit a few of these spots.
Sam,
Interesting avatar you have there - that was the picture on our Stuart to Key Largo Atlas...is that you? If so, howdy again! Good to hear that you have moved to our neck of the woods, but Houston is quite different than Miami as you probably already have figured out.
We are printing our new Upper Texas Coast Atlas next week which will be the most comprehensive book available when it comes out, hands down. If you don't believe it, (as I'm sure jtburf doesn't), I simply would suggest that you compare the 2 when it comes out.
It will have a ton of accurate fishing spots, shows the rig locations, and here in Texas, the 9 mile line is very important as it demarcates the federal/state boundary.
It will be available at Academy Sporting Goods, Fishing Tackle Unlimited, and my partner's new marina in Freeport, Surfside Marina.
Samantha, PM me with your contact info and I will send you a complimentary copy for the honor of you gracing the cover of the atlas a few years back!
All the best,
Tom Hilton
