Default Red Snapper

Snapper season could not have opened on a better week. With a lot of crazy weather including rain, wind, and cold fronts, and then as calm and nice as it gets towards the end of the week it was easy pickings and a short run for limits of snapper and amberjack. We took full advantage of the snapper season opening on June 1. As expected the snapper were thicker than ever, a nd along with the red snapper we caught mangrove snapper, grouper, cobia, and amberjack. The tuna bite really went off this past weekend, weather was a problem for last week to fish tuna most days so once the weather turned right for getting out there it showed at the docks yesterday. Dolphin are steady as well. With a lack of rip lines forming this past week due to currents and wind the dolphin catch was down but it will pick up. The forecast for this week is as good as it gets. This is the week to be out fishing. We've got open boats starting on Wed. The fishing will be excellent.
