Default No Sleeper Venice LA 6/6/09

Friday we left Venice Marina at @ 3:30 pm for an all nighter with a case of Red Bull and a case of 5 hour energy drinks. 15 miles out of Tiger Pass and the Snapper were almost jumpin in the boat. They were hangin out at a 20 - 25 count and loved the pogies we had to offer. Nothin huge but with a quick limit we were off to blue water. We stopped at a grass patch just as the sun was going down and put some small jacks and hardtails in the live well. After our arrival at our first spot we never found a consistent bite on YF, just an undersize and some Blackfin.

We shifted gears at 12:30 am and moved to our next and last spot. As soon as we marked a concentration of fish we started chunkin and it was on. A solid 50 lb. Dolphin came to check out the boat while we were fighting a tuna and he ate a chunk and then took a nice ice bath. Just before daybreak we put out some livies and they were gettin torn up. Small or big didn't seem to matter although we only got one of em to stick. Biggest fish was @100 lbs. and was the meanest taking @ 45 minutes to get in. We made it back to the marina at 9:30 am. just in time to see Devlin cleaning some Swordfish and an Escolar.

Fishing is good
Catch em up.
