RE: pending ladies' world record red snapper on a fly
She was fishing with Captain Tommy Pelligrin. He fishes mostly out of Cocodrie in the Ship Shoal platforms, so I would doubt that the rig is the one out of South Pass. I think they were fising in about 80 ft of water which would be probaly 40-50 miles out of Whiskey Pass. There are a lot of them that look alike though.
RE: pending ladies' world record red snapper on a fly
It could just have easily been any other rig in that area. Capt Tommy is the best! I went out with him about 3 years ago. Great Captain. Not often that he comes back without a limit of Snapper And AJ's. We had three ladies with us and he was very helpful to them. He fishes out of Bayou Bait and Tackle (985) 594-9462. There are about four Captains that fish out of there and they are all pretty good. He has qutie a few records that his customers have caught. I would reccomend him to anyone wanting to have a good time. If you can find a copy of the June Louisiana Sportsman, there is an article in there about him and the area he fishes. Long Boat Rides, but worth the Ride.
