Default Live Croakers and Shrimp (MS Gulf Coast)

Live Croakers and Shrimp !!!

I will have live bait every Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings from 4-9 a.m. starting on Friday, April 10, 2009. Other dates and times available upon request. I will be south of Pass Christian and Long Beach harbors. Generally, I will be east of Pass Marianne light dragging for bait in the channel. It is a short run for those launching out of Gulfport or Bayou Caddy as well.

How it works:

The best and safest way to get bait from my boat while I am dragging is to contact me before you reach the boat and let me know how many croakers and/or shrimp that you will need so I can have them ready for you. While I am dragging DO NOT approach the boat from the stern because I will be pulling my gear from the stern. (Single Rig) Approach my boat from the Left side and pull along that side. Your boat is my concern so I will have bumpers along the port side in case we bump. At that point I will hand you a five gallon bucket with your bait. Dump your bait in your live well and place the money for the bait in the bucket and hand it back to me. (Wet money spends just as well as dry so I am not too concerned about that). If you are getting both baits I will have them separated so I will hand you a second bucket with the other bait. Please have exact change as it will be difficult but not impossible to make change. If you can not reach me via the phone or radio just pull along side and let me know what you need.

How to find the bait boat:

I will have a white flashing strobe light to aid in finding the boat before daylight. Call me on my cell (228) 669-3632 or on the V.H.F. Ch. 68 and I will let you know where I am. Generally I will be northwest of Cat Island and east of Pass Marianne light. Please do not call later than 9 p.m. the night before. You can call as early as 3 a.m. the morning of.

Getting your bait directly from the bait boat can be a safe and enjoyable experience for you and your crew! So, lets keep it safe and if there is a line of boats (there usually is at prime time) please allow the next boat in line to go.

Live Croakers and Shrimp-$.25 or $3.00 per dozen.

Also, keep me in mind when the shrimp season opens in June for all your seafood needs. Stocking the freezers with fresh shrimp, cook outs ect.

WEATHER PERMITTING!

Thank you,
Wade H. Blackwell 3
