Random Quote: Hey, YOU scratched my anchor! Rodney Dangerfield in Caddy Shack
I am going out Sat for the first trip in my new (to me) boat! Plan is it to try for Tuna. I am leaving out of Perdido heading out to the floaters, is any one else planning on heading out there?
Has anyone been out there lately and caught anything?

It's not looking to good for a long run on Saturday, if so it will be a very short window on Saturday. I hope you have plan B after driving that far down. If nothing else you can get out and see if there is any bait at the spot my fishing partner RJC gave you.
That is the plan, look for bait, see what the conditions are and if conditions good run long and stay till they start to deteriorate. If conditions are bad, hit the closer rigs/other bottom and see what we can find to pull the lines. (AJ, Snapper) I think it is a little early for the Cobia bite isn't it? If nothing else, we"ll see how she handles in rough water... I am crossing my fingers, the window looks a little longer this morning then it did yesterday.

We found em!! Well maybe not the big ones, but we are happy. We loaded the boat with as many Blackfin as we could reel in, and got 2 smaller yellowfin (about 40# each). Left with the fish biting just as strong as when we got there... All Tuna, but one, came on butterfly style jigs and the one that did not was one of the yellowfin which was caught on a Stretch 30. All the reports said 2-3 feet seas. reality 1/2'-1' seas, with 5-10 knt wind. I am definitely calling the day a success for not having a clue what we were doing and it being our first time out there. We did not stop for live bait, so the first fish caught on the boat was a blackfin tuna. It was such a beautiful day, and we only saw two other boats on the water the entire time we were out there. Did anyone else make it out anywhere today?

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the barracudas which probably ate more Tuna then we brought home... They are way out of control!!!! At one point we thought they were going to jump into the boat to get the tuna we got into the boat...

They were marking about 150-250 feet deep. We ran out about 85 miles. Hit Beer Can and nothing, hit Marlin and marked bait about 200ft so tried dropping butterfly jigs down. My first three drops, Blackfin hit the jig on the way down. There were some really small Blackfin at the surface on occasion but never saw anything with any size to it. We tried chunking for a while and did not get anything to come up...
