If you are looking for a great riding bay boat, look elsewhere. I think the the 18 Palm Beach is a much better boat and has a much better ride than the 18 Cape Horn.

The guy that built them was a friend of my dad, his wife is Lulu Buffet. He took the old 22 bay cape horn and cut the sides down and moved the console to the rear for a rear seating. It created a huge casting deck. He had some real nice features about the boat. I belive it was designed for inboard/outboard but he had one with a bracket and an e-tec on it at the boat show last year. He use to have some adds in the fishing magazines but I have not seen any in a while.

Not sure but I think it was McAleer Marine in Foley. They are no longer in business. I did talk with Mr Fabro @ Cape Horn in Milton. He said they sold their bay boat molds to McAleer, but did not know that McAleer went out of business. Too bad, as that was a good looking v hull for shallow water.

They were good riding bay boats. Phase III produced the 22 for a while with a funky interior. I think Phase III & Point Clear were the same people. Point Clear produced the 18 & 22 "normal" bay boats for a short time. I think they closed down though. The Point Clear web site doesn't work anymore. The remaining hulls were bought out by a local dealership.
