Default Offshore Venice La

Me and Lee snuck out on a 2 boat trip on friday. The goal was yf and the idea was to run long. Got about 30 miles out and it was pretty rough so he headed off to try a shrimper and I went by a rig to see if there was anything going on. No bites on the shrimper but first pass by the rig and I had a solid hookup on a purple diving bait. Woohoo caught my first wahoo of the winter season. After that is was just rediculous. I think I doubled up like 4 straight times with everything being 40-60 pounds.

there were also some yf hanging around and I caught 4 of them on yozuri bonitos. All of them were about 20 pounds. Lee had spent most of the morning trying every other rig in the gulf with no success so I left my rig and told him to wait a little while and they would start biting again. Sure enough he went over there and boxed three wahoo and 8 yf.

I tried some other rigs as well and there was only one holding fish that I found and it was the first one. It was also slapass loaded with hardtails and baby bonitos.

Looks like a good start to the winter season.

I ended up the day with 12 wahoo and 4 yf.

WOOHOO!!! Looks like the hooters have arrived. Gonna try to get out after Xmas if the weather will let us. Hope the weather will be good for getting Gordo and Snapperhead out. Love that pic with the Stretch in his throat.

Eddie, Thanks again for the great trip! I still can't believe how lucky we got with the warm weather for 2 days. I'll post some more pictures when I get them downloaded. James took about 200 pics on his camera, as well. I think I have a really good shot of your boat at sunrise.

Next time you see Lee, ask him about the swim he and Junior took last night next to the houseboat...

God I'm sore today.

HAHA! I'm the one in the bottom pic with the slicker bib on. 2nd from left. We would have really nailed them if I had been decked out in Pelagic gear.

I don't know man, those yellow slicker bibs are right up there with the pelagic gear. What you really need is some long floppy hair sticking out of you visor. That's the ticket...

Those pictures would have looked much more professional with some Pelagic Gear! I have my Pelagic hat and T shirt in the truck just in case we get out I would wear my LSU gear but I'm afraid that the fish woud run off several TD's then I would be playing catch up the rest of the fight.

Don't worry about the Pelagic crap Gordo. I'll wear my Saints cap. I figured today would be Detroits only win of the year. Don't worry I know where Eddie went. Okay, I've got a really really good idea.

Eddie had to have gone south of New Orleans.
I think I may put him on my new fishing show and make him more famous.
BTW- I'm up for whatever Fri or Sat. I just got done terrorizing the girls at the Hooters in Gulfport. I'm kind of a legend here

They all wanted pink all day. At least on our boat. Pink stretchs for wahoo and pink mirrolures for tuna.
