I just wanted to post this speckled trout tournament information for any of you that might be interested in a speckled trout tournament in the Keaton Beach/Steinhatchee area on Nov. 1st and 2nd, 2008. The website is;

You can go to the "tournament rules" page and the "tournament schedule" page and see information regarding the tournament that pertains to Captains meeting, rules, etc. This is a two day tournament. There is a $10,000.00 guaranteed purse. Entry fee is $75.00 per fisherman. Payback is based on 15% of the field. Example of payback for 100 entries can be seen on Tournament Rules page. It is an all artificial bait tournament. A fisherman (individually) may weigh-in three speckled trout (state size limits apply) each day. The winner will be determined by total weight for the two day tournament. A $500.00 cash award for the largest speckled trout and $500.00 cash award for the largest redfish (must be within state slot limit) will be given. You can register on-line (through Oct. 29, 2008) or at Captain's meeting from 5-7 p.m. on Friday night Oct. 31, 2008 in Perry, Fl. and through our office; 270-395-7100. Any proceeds from the tournament will be earmarked for our Outdoor Kids Scholarship Fund.
