UAB Moose

Has anyone been catching any speckled trout around Dauphin Island/Ft.Morgan? I have been struggling the past couple of weeks and out of ideas... I mostly fish the bay rigs and a few inshore reefs around Ft.Morgan, but fishing has been dead. Any ideas?

Might want to try early along the beaches, or around Sand Island. Caught a few bigguns there on the North side of the island a few weeks ago on topwater. Key is hitting them before the sun gets up too high. I am not an expert fisherman by any means, and Specks seem to be very sensitive to noise, water clarity and oxygen levels so I don't fish for them often. Timing and location. I hear they are still plentiful in the areas you fish. Are you anchoring or hooking up to the rigs?
