Eagle Claw makes hooks for Penn called Circle sets, they have an offset eye that allows you to snell the hook and it then is in a direct line with your leader material.
I have been useing them for 4 years with great sucess...
take your hooks and look at them on "edge", lining up the barb end with the shank
if the shank is in the same "plane" with the barb, it is non-offset, which is what you want
if the barb end curves away in one direction away from the shank, it is an offset hook

The barb was straight. The shank was bent right before the curve. I just bent it straight so the barb and shank were in line.
