Default Red Snapper World Championship

Has anyone had any problems with this tournament or the Salwater Series? We have.

I came in 5th place Wahoo and have yet to receive my prize. I have contacted Mark Mallet(supposed tournament director) several times and now he wont take my calls or call me back.

Furthermore, we caught a large nearly extenct red snapper yesterday. We try to weigh it in on the way home and guess what-Both places we go, didn't know anything about being a weigh station-yet both are listed as weigh stations on the website. So now our snapper has to wait over night to get weighed in. Not counting the 30 miles out of the way we had to tow our boat.

I wasn't going to say anything negative about this. As I like tournament fishing and would like to see more in the N. Gulf. BUT what the ****. Get your stuff together.

If anyone knows Mark please have him contact me.

Didn't the snapper portion end at the end of June?

I've sent your post to the former tournament director, Tony Kennon, in hopes that he will get your concerns into the right hands. Sorry about your frustration; looks like the new director is on the steep part of the learning curve.

Thanks for everyone's help. Hated to talk negative about a local tournament, but got sick of the run around.

Thanks for getting in touch with Tony-Great guy-Everyone should vote for him for orange beach mayor.

Aparently Mark is no longer in charge and a nice woman named Sharon is(or at least helping). They are getting it taken care of. (the 30 wide is on its way)

Snapper weighed 17.75-5th place small boat thus far. May have weighed enough for 4th last night(.15 difference). Owe well probably wont hold anyways.

Again thanks for everyones help.

You know, Nick, when I forward something to a guy that real busy running his business and running for office....and he turns right around and gives you a phone call to fix the PR and award thing, then THAT is a good guy IMHO.
I told him he can place a big sign in my yard anytime.

Glad it worked out!!

Rick,

I agree!!

I own 2 businesses myself. I understand the time it takes, and for him to call me immediately. That shows character. As I stated, I didn't want to bash anyone. I understand how hard it is to find good work and I imagine there is a lot of work behind these two tournaments. They are of high standard and quality. I was just sick of getting the run around.

He can put signs at my businesses if he would like(I don't think anyone will see them in my yard).

Again thanks
NIck
