I don't think so. Check out the radar loop. The center easily distinguishable. Looks to me like it'll be heading nnw into the florida panhandle over the next few hours. But what do I know?

Man,another weekend blow out.Wanted to go do a blast and cast down in Hopedale.Should of,could of,but didn't.Man they blew the farcast for that one.I haven't wet a line in almost two months(work killing me),but been shooting a few teal.Planning on going today at the lease.Got to get my dog out there.She had a blast last trip even without a single shot.5 months old and coming along great.I think she will make out good for the first split of the duck season this year.I didn't think she would make it to the second split for hunting.She is turning out to bea good gun dog after all.Then again I have alot of time in her.Guess after this weekend,I will not be able to hunt or fish till Oct 12(for the get together).Got some outages coming up soon.

Is it just me, or are we seeing something new here in regards to the forecasting of these storms. I've found that the most accurate forecasts come from expert weather bloggers (Jeff Masters on wunderground.com is my favorite). I've been keeping up with this one for a week, and all of my research showed that there would be very little development....and for the last day or so, this thing was clearly taking a northerly track. Yet, the forecasts and models from the mainstream media kept it heading along the coast and impacting as many people as possible. It seems to me that these forecasts are not being made according to fact, but instead are being based on how to minimize criticism and blame after landfall. I think all the Katrina BS has put the media, weather forecasters, and local govt. officials into "CYA" or "cry wolf" mode. This is not good in my opinion.....over time people will realize that they are fudging thier forecasts and will stop listening to them altogether.

Looks like things are calming down out there, I'm getting the urge to wet a line. Pug, I see a little difference in forecasting but I don't think anyone ever put too much faith in them anyway. Anybody gonna venture out?
