Default Floundering Light

For those that wade and flounder, what type of light do you use? I haven't been in a while and am looking to start up again. I used to use the old propane one with the mantles. I have seen those and the battery operated ones at Academy. Any recommendations would be great.

There is one called the Hardey-Light that is heads above the rest. I think they have a web site. They are made in Houston.

The Academy type light works well. I use a floating light with a car headlight in it. Seems to be a bit brighter than the others and is easy to set off to the side to get the fish off the gig. Tow the battery around on a raft. The small batteries from Academy have about 3 hours of life to them.

I like the look of that hardey light. Do you know what kind of bulbs they use? Thanks for all the responses.

I am not sure what type of light it is. I was first impressed with their night light because the actually fill the void between the bulb and the tube with silionce which not only water proofs it but also makes it very shock resistant. I like they way they think. You can tell they are fishermen and went through some trial and error to get it right.

Brob98,
What is a Hardey light. Is it spelled correctly? I googled it and could not locate. I live in Pass Christian and don't think I have seen it on the Coast.

i use the underwater light from academy and it works well. what i do with the small batteries is i wear a nail apron and stick the battery in it to carry it around. a backpack for your battery works well to. if your going with a car battery ya definately want to pull it around with something that floats.
