Default Quick Report

Just a quick report from Fourchon today. Could have sunk the boat with mangroves! Every rig we fished was loaded and we left them biting at every rig. We were trophy hunting (I'm determined to win the STAR!) so trying to find the big ones. We kept 8 fish between 8-11#'s, but couldn't find a bigger one (so glad we only kept 8 because cleaning 8 of those big boys and a lemonfish was more than enough meat and work for me!). It was pretty cool to be on em' so hard that we were letting 5-6#ers' go! Got one smallish lemon that kept and one undersize released.

By the way Boomer's got nothing on my dad (with the gaff). For the second time this summer I have to gaff my own lemonfish after he misses and misses!!!!!

I'll post up a full report with pictures tomorrow when I get home.

Gary

Gary, I think the gaffing has something to do with eyesight. After 30, it's downhill and you start seeing fuzzy and they don't have those cat like reflexes we younger bucks have.
I know last time I went with Boomer he had me tying his knots b/c he forgot his reading glasses.

I don't know about that, ask Jim's friend Mike.I think he would give me the no gafting award for the year on a bull dolphin and broken rod.

Paul, you had a couple bad swings!
There are two things that happen when you grow old.
One, is you lose your memory.
I believe the other is you lose your gaffing skills, but i can't remember

BTW Paul, Mike took that rod back and replaced it with an Ugly Stick. That won't break.

Gmack,

You were at GI 47, right? How'd you get them? Chumming or live croakers or both?
