After a few pm's back and forth to some guys that made the GI trip we're thinking of doing one this Fall in Venice. Redwieser says late Oct. will be the best for that time frame so I'll take that to the bank. I'm thinking the last weekend in Oct. I know with some babies due and summer vacations maybe this will be easier to schedule for everybody. Lets kick it around. Here is a link to the report from the GI trip if anyone missed it.
Boomer, I made that evaluation because the mullet migration into the gulf should be about that time, but you never know. Green water should be in the Jump in Sept. That's when we usually catch a lot of nice Specs in the diversions and spillways.
For people that like moon phases, here's something to look at too.
I'd definitely do my best. Looking at Red's moon phases though I'd probably pick the weekend before. I hate fishing the extreme of either moon phase. Maybe its just superstition but I find its all or nothing when fishing a full or new moon. The nly exception is fising spawning spotted ones.
I may have a camper and a camp available then too.
Making an overnighter this weekend Gary. First grandchild is due in a week or 2 so I'll probably be staying close for a while after this trip. Then maybe not. Crying, diapers, hormones, wife, jealous dogs.
Gary, I will be in GI 7/4-7/8. I am driving the boat from Venice and spending time with my family. Pretty sure we're going to make one trip long. More than likely a trip to the Canyon or the Mars area. I might be able to work you in. Let me know if that's a possibility.
I could probably give Mangrove lessons at the least.... Kidding!!!!!! Let me know.
13th is good I believe--away game at Kentucky. 'm making pretty much all of the oher road trips so that's the weekend for me. Let's pencil it in and get something booked. I think I'm off that Friday--at least I can be

Was land locked this weekend,dam alternator!Its on its way inbetween New Orleans and here.I did get a chance to go play in the mud with my new toy.Only problem with that was the three hours washing the mud off,but it was fun.Todd,whats up?When you want to get together for a trip?Anybody going to be down on Grand Isle for the GITR?I most likely will have some room on that thursday and friday to fish if anybody wants to join in.I will be staying at Monty's.
In between now and then,I will most likely try to fish not this weekend but the falling one on a overnighter (blue water)if the weather is good.I might have a open for one or two for that if anybody is interested.PM me.Don't know if I will run out of Grand Isle or Venice.All that depends on weather.
