Default Bait on the way to venice

I am heading to venice 7/5, and was wondering if anyone grabs frozen pogies before getting all the way down there? Didnt there used to be a bait shack before myrtle grove? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If any of you guys are heading down, we are hoping for some nice weather and getting to some rigs. Give me a shout if you are out there. We will be fishing thu and fri.

Will post a report afterwards.

Thanks for any/all info,

James

Capt. Larrys on the right south of the Naval Base turn off at Belle Chasse. 50 lb. pogies are $18 or 20 I think and ice is $4 per basket. Can get a good poboy there too.

You can buy ice and pogies at Venice Marina before it opens.Just ask the lady that sits at the landing when she collects your money for that.I had got some at 2:30am.

Great, thanks guys. I was just slightly concerned, going down after the 4th of July that the marina may be sold out.
