Default New to the Gulf of Mexico

O.K. I am a big bass fisherman, But I cought my first salt water fish saturday aroud ship island (spanish mackerel). I have a new 19' Regal Pleasure Boat and would Like some help. Me and my wife are also divers, I would like to go fishing and diving, but don't Know were to begin, the water around ship was fun fishing but not really divable. also i have some concerns about taking a 19' boat south of the island.

ok.....you should be fine to go out in that boat to a few close rigs and wrecks...go to mississippi dmr web site they have coordinates posted on there..i also dive and there is decent diving not to far out...im running a 20 ft 6 inch boat and on decent days i take it wayyyy out there and if you pick a good day you should be able to run 30-40 miles out ...just keep your heads up on the evening thunder heads.....pm me if you have any specific questions.....

bluffman2,
I was looking at the offshore artifcial reef site map, FH1, FH2 and FH13 look like good fishing spots, how is the diving in these areas, and how far out are they.
