I understand there are some AJs in the bay @ Destin.... how would I go about catchin' a couple in late June?[img]../images/emoticons/confused.gif[/img]

Leave the bay, run about 40-50 miles offshore to large structure, drop big hardtails, etc. half way down, hold on...

no seriously - I have never seen an AJ in the bay. Maybe around the bay cones in front of Destin bridge on the North side. Jack Crevelle are more common in the bay.

Right off the pass you might be able to pick up a stray....

If not, there is always AJ's (the bar) in Destin....more fun anyway.

A lot of the public numbers off the AL coast have a bunch of under sized AJ's, like 18"ers. Maybe the same thing is going on over there.

For the most part, from our shores anyway, the keeper AJ's have been pretty far offshore.
