Default THT boaters list/directory suggestion.

Anyone talk to anyone on the boater list this season? I've tried a couple of times to reach people but no luck.

Instead of trying to locate everyone individually maybe we can do as someone else suggested and call out something like "Any THT boaters listening?" It would be a lot easier to call this out on a few different channels -vs- trying to call out individuals on different channels.

I'm open to suggestions if someone has a better idea how we can communicate more successfully than we are now. I have no problem w/ you guys trying to call me on my cell phone either. I'm pretty much a weekend fisherman because I have to work for a living (dang it).

I don't know about you guys but I've sure burned a lot of fuel compared to how many walleye I've caught this year. I would have been happy to turn anyone onto the Starve Island bite today, or if anyone else had a hot spot it would have been great to hear from you. I spent $165 on fuel today alone.

Any suggestions guys?

Russ

Hi Russ, only made it out twice this summer. Thanks for the heads up on the fish around Starve I. May get the boat out tomorrow. Will give you a call on 68 if I do get out. Two weeks ago I picked up a couple eyes out by the weather buoy

Good idea Russ. It has been TOO hot for us to go out. I also have not had the marine radio on when we did go out perch fishing.

Remind me again of the channel we should be monitoring as a group.

I typically have mine on 79 in the islands area. Casting limits the past two weekends just over the line. Finished by 10:00 on Saturday. With all of the shinners now at the surface be sure to try some splash counts. Pulled a few on Sunday with no wind, long cast and start cranking. I had my share of sheep at the splash count as well.

I have been bad when it comes to staying on a channel. When I started the season I was on 72 but it seemed too quite. Now I have been on 79 which has much more chatter but on some days way, way too much. That's when the radio gets shut off. With the new boat, marina fee, gas prices and just limited time have me in the Lorain area only. I cant really complain especially in the past 10 days. The walleye fishing has been outstanding and only a few miles off shore, drifting/casting. Sand bar has been pretty quite this year or at least for me. Perch has been so so. Great early on but with the warm weather you can catch a ton still but the size is the problem. I am mostly out on Wednesday night and the weekends so if you are in the area give me a shout. I hopefully will have some good reports to share.
