First year that I will be missing it in a while...out of town until Sunday night. I would be curious to see the size this year as it has been shrinking the past few years. Not many dealers have new product so I suspect a lot of used boats this year.

Mike - give me a call if you are coming over to the show.

Happy Days has a nice display with around 30 boats.

South Shore Marine has 42 boats on display.

I was really surprised to see how small the show was this year. It really was just a fraction of what it used to be in the past. Even the vendor booths took a big hit.
I was there on Friday and the attendance was very poor.

No surprise that it was small; our industry has shrunk a little and boat show costs are not coming down any. Friday is always a slow day, but attendance was very good both Sat and Sunday. We sold boats and I'm sure others did too; best show for us in a couple of years.
Thanks to all who attended.

I will remember this for next year. I'm a minority owner in Bay Point and could probably write off the trip.

Wow, I'm from Cleveland originally, and I was shocked at the press release on Lakeside. I was stunned. They have been up in Lakeside for a long long time. I went to the Cleve boat show in January and was somewhat surprised that they didn't have a Pursuit to look at. I ended up buying but from an out-of-state dealer. The Lakeside people were very nice, and it was a family owned business. My dad used to own a cottage 8 years ago on Meadowbrook drive, so i knew them as a straight up outfit. It's just too bad. Thanks for posting it.

Default Boat Show

I went on Friday. Surprised to hear some vendors had a good show. Good for them. I thought the show was a disappointment. $10 to park $9 admission and I didn't stay long enough to have a beer. I doubt I'll go next year.

Holy crap! That really stinks. I bought a used boat from Tom Vickers 3 years ago. Actually his personal boat. Very nice guy. Although he was the only guy I met, when I was there, everyone was nice. They had a pretty good reputation 150 miles away here in Erie.

I just bought a Pursuit and had planned on taking my all my families boat business to Lakeside (purchased boat from a different dealer). Have been in their showroom off and on for the last two years looking and looking - what a shame. Nice folks all around.

btw, how did Southshore Marine end up as a Pursuit dealer less than two weeks after Lakeside got locked up?

Most likely the same way Skipper Buds came up with Tiara; this event did not happen just recently, but over a period of time. I'm quite certain that Tiara/Pursuit had hedged its bets as any builder and good business structure would have to do.
