Default Lake Erie Fall Perch Fishing

Let's hear about your area. Port Clinton has been great for several weeks now, only about a mile offshore in 12-18 ft of water. 3-4 fish to a pound pretty normal and not many throw-backs. What a difference a few weeks makes.
Last year it was over Nov 10; don't really see any reason to quit yet even on the 10 day forecast. What a beautiful fall!

The perch run bigger further East from Cleveland to Conneaut.
I run Headboats out of Wildwood and the customers from the western basin are amazed at many 13-15" footballs.

Agreed and I've seen them brought into the Port Clinton fish house from Ashtabula--huge perch! We can't compete with that in this shallow water, but we did average 3 fish per lb more often than not--and they all taste great!

Here are a few for your viewing pleasure, the only ones we keep under 11"'s are ones that will die anyways.

Blue perch

And some 15 to 15-1/2”ers.

Nice catches and thanks for sharing. One of the best falls in this part of the world in recent memory. Continued good luck---the walleye population along with the asian carp situation is certainly on the spring agenda for all of us concerned with the industry. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Yes, that will be very interesting for sure. They are working on dropping the eyes to 4 limit next year also.
