 Frankfort lake mi. 8/8-8/15
Pulled the Carolina up to Frankfort for the month and finally had a chance to fish this past week.
The king salmon fishing was great! Double digit numbers every time out.
The fishing was deep 80-130 ft down. Magnum dipsy's 275 back on #1 wire for the low divers 350-375 on 3 braid for the high divers.
Ran spoons (silver streak magnums) and spin doctor /fly combo's. Never had to try meat which is fine with me cause I don't like the mess and seem to catch as many as the guys who run it. Riggers 80-130 down. Some slider action.
Biggest king was 23# most in the 12-18# range.
We ran 1.8-2.0 knots at the ball. 200-600 ft of water. We did better than the boats that fished the bank in the pack. We were rarely within a mile of another boat.
Copper and lead were slow (Thank God!) but did put some bonus fish InTheNet.
water temp was 62-65 at surface. Temp brake usually in the 80-100ft range.
Going back up this Saturdayu for a night trip then back home. |
