Default Clinton River

Has anyone been up the clinton river from Lake St. Clair to Mt Clemens?

I read an article in Great Lakes Scuttlebutt last week that it had been dredged.

My boat is 65' overall and I am not sure if I can go in there or turn around...

Anyone have actual experience?

Hi,

I live right near the Clinton off Anchor Bay on Lake St Clair.

To answer your questions, the river is deep and wide enough for your boat. Just watch the shore line as the depth naturally drops closer to the shore.

A couple of points:

  • It is no wake.
  • About 4.5 miles from the mouth to Mt Clemens.
  • There is a bridge about half way up that is under construction. It is torn down but they keep one side passable.
  • Just for example there is 50+ foot wood cruiser moored 4 miles up the river.
  • If your intent is to dock in Mt Clemens, you wont be able to get your boat into the municpal docks as there is a bridge you wont clear. But just on the other side of the bridge is docking along the edge of the river and a walk way. It is along the YMCA. If your intent is to dock I would call Mt Clemens and the YMCA for details.
  • Its about a 2.5 hour ride. It is scenic with houses and marinas

Noted and thanks for the information. Very helpful.

Unfortunately, my boat moves at 7 mph at idle and does make about a 8 inch wake. So, unless I engage and disengage all the way up, looks like a no go.
