Favorite Great Lakes waterfront bars / restaurants
I saw another thread with this title but it was in the main boating forum. I thought it would be cool to make a thread specific to the Great Lakes. As the title says let us know your favorite waterfront bars and restaurants....don't forget the location and any other specifics that non-locals might need to know.
I'll start...
Lake Erie - Cleveland area-
Sunset Grill in Whiskey Island Marina-Cleveland Harbor - VHF 67 for transient dockage. Great "down to earth" destination with a large grassy area and picnic tables for outside diners.
Pearl Necklace Marina - Rocky River - minimal transient dockage (2 slips) but a nice outside patio looking down river. Good cheap food.
Red Clay on the River - Vermillion - plenty of dockage when I've been there but it can fill up fast.
Pickle Bill's - Grand River (Mentor on the Lake area) - about 20 slips - The outside roundhouse bar is always fun.
Conneaut Ohio this year will have a restaurant for the first time in many years on the waterfront. Years ago there was a little place called the "galley" (?) which became the Port Conneaut Yacht Club's Club house. Well, this year the Port Authority has granted a lease to a restauranteur to have the building back to see if they can make a go of it, at least seasonally. It will be interesting to see if it works out.
On the hill above the marina is the Conneaut Moose Lodge #472. If you make it in there on race day, the drinks are half price. My wife and I stopped in there one night, I ordered up a beer, and she had a glass of wine and the bill was $1.75. I like that place! You can't beat the view either. http://mooselodge472.tripod.com/

Just past the drawbridge, they have average (at best) bar food that is overpriced, but not as bad as the drinks. The place is packed because the waitresses are HOT.
If I could get takout from the Thirsty Perch and eat it there it would be perfect.
I hear great things about Connelly's Cove in Sodus Bay, NY on Lake Ontario....
Boardwalk at Put In Bay on Lake Erie is fantastic - big expansion a year ago so huge air conditioned upper floor sit down restaurant / bar in addition to the oudoors more casual areas...Lobster Bisque is AWESOME.
In Huron, OH Check out I'5s (It's 5' O'Clock Somewhere) for a casual / fun place.
Also in Vermilion, OH what was formerly the Red Clay is going to be run by Quaker Steak & Lube - should be a fun place this summer.
Famous Dave's BarBQ at the Cedar Point Marina is excellent as well.

Tough to find, but fun to find---Lagoon Saloon in Nugent's Canals in Port Clinton on the Portage River. The Tackle Box in Fremont on the Sandusky River--be careful of the depth when you get close. Friday night perch dinners are the best buy on Lake Erie.
