Hypothetically speaking...

If there were a "Netflix for Fishermen", would you be willing to use a rental service (weekly/monthly rates) that would allow you to "try before you buy" any of the following:

[Yes|No] Rods
[Yes|No] Reels
[Yes|No] Other (give an example of other items)

There is, sort of.

In 2005, I ran about $3,000 worth of rods and reels through my boat on trial. Courtesy of Cabela's. Got to a final solution of Shimano Charter Specials on Innerflow rods.
