Default Lake Michigan Salmon Reports

I did not see any other threads with this so I figured I would start one.

At the present time, we only have one boat fishing out of our place. First salmons of the season by us.Bill only goes out from 5pm to dark. West side of Washington Island. I will get the particulars and post them.

Its good to see the Salmon already up here. The water is still pretty dam cold.

06-193 salmon.....15lb range
06-20 4 salmon.....15-18lb range
06-21 2 salmon...same range.

As of last weekend (6/21) the Milwaukee area has been slow. We haven't seen the coho run yet which is normally in full swing buy now. The kings are not very active either. The water has an unusual brown greenish color all the way out to 9 miles. The storms, flooding and sewage dumping could be the cause. Going out Tuesday evening so we'll see how it goes.

It will be good to see ya!

Last nights report.....06-23-2008 . Mr Bill leaving the dock at 5:00 pm and returning at dusk got 4 Salmon. The biggest being 20 plus pounds. Pretty good for this time of year!

Its hard to get pics from him since I am gone when he comes back in and he also cleans the fish out on the boat. But the reports are accurate. He wouldn't lie............. ya Ok....he's a fishermen.......they all lie .....right?

Thanks for the report! Hear they are starting to get some over at Fairport and off Summer Island as well. The alewives have finally shown up in full force so things are going to pick up really quick. I've still been doing decent on walleye over here off of Cedar River but will probably start fishing for salmon after this weekend. Sounds like some bigger fish this year. I'll have to shoot over across the bay someday and say hi.

right now is a great time to fish west of Washington island... the 100 foot drop by Boyer's bluff has a crazy salmon bite around 60-70 feet down

Default St. Joe

The bigger fish are starting to show up in St. Joe. The weather has been very weird this year. These are from this past weekend.

Nice fish guys........you are not kidding about it being a weird summer. More like an extended spring!

Its been kind of hit or miss for a while on the west side of the island. Mr. Bill got a nice 25 plus pound Salmon that took 4th place in the tournament last week. Got a get a pic from him to post.

I have to say its cool looking at a picture of Denny's Bluff posted on the THT. Don't see many local pictures here.
