E10 just appeared here in SC, Im trying to run the last of the old gas (MTBE) out this weekend but Im coming up to Catawba Isl in a month. Is the Gas E10 yet in that area? Im trying to avoid mixing.

Have you ever ran E-10 before? If you have, it shouldn't be an issue. I run E-10 about 70% of the time (filling up at the gas station). But when I fill on the lake, many of the marinas pump ethanol free fuel. Ethanol isn't required of off road or rec. vehicles in MN. I never run my tanks real low so I end up mixing the two fuels on a regular basis. I've been doing this for 10+ years with no issues.

I've heard that the bigger issue is when you first start using ethanol it tends to clog filters, carbs, etc. We've had ethanol for so long that unless you've owned your boat since it was new, it's hard to say when the first time the tank got filled with E-10.

I'm not trying to start the ethanol debate, I'm just saying we've had it here for years and the impact has been very minimal.

yea, Im not real concerned about E10 cause I have a 06 motor, but it was the mixing I was concerned about. So many advisories warn against it, but I have to believe a LOT of people are mixing with no problem by shear odds alone. For a trailer boater, youre gonna mix at some point as you said.
