I posted this in one of the other threads on THT and did not receive any suggestions. Thought perhaps some of the Great Lake guys may help. I purchased the probe and the instructions totally suck. I spoke to Canon and they told me to wrap the downrigger wire around the 3 prong thingy on the probe and then attach the safety catch. I am having a difficult time trying to comprehend that a person just wraps a wire line around these prongs. Any ideas? Thanks. Dwain

This connection to the cable is one of the weak points to the Canon SNT and quite a few probes are sitting on the bottom because of it. If everthing is 100% it works ok but... there was a thread about modifying the connection to make it similar to a depth raider on glangler.com under fishing reports/lake ontario reports, page2. I will try to email you a copy

Thanks. I Received the email and photos. I am going to take a photo and email my unit to you. The end where the cable attaches is entirely different than mine. I have received..
