It's by Ispat steel plant (formerly Inland steel) in East Chicago IN. You usually can launch out of Pastrick Marina in the same town but there maybe some ice there right now so some of the guys are making about an 8 mile run to the ship canal from the 95th St ramp in Chicago, but if it's windy that can be some rough water, if it's calm no problem. I use to run a 16' Sylvan around there regularly. There are some warm water discharges in the ship canal so the fish stack up in or just out of the canal along a mud line that sets up. That's always been a good early season spot.
