Anyone have any experience on fishing sandusky bay or presque isle bay for bass. Areas, techniques would be appreciated. Also, all I do is C and R so I wont be baggin limits of fish out of the area.

Paul,
You can probably get some specific info at least on the Sandusky area on the Ohio Game Fishing site. I haven't done much bass fishing in the past few years so no first hand help.

Paul,

I don't fish Presque Isle Bay for Bass, but I fish the waters outside the bay. You could trailer your boat to Northeast PA, launch there, and go about 6 miles west to shades beach. Otherwise, it's a 10 mile run from Lampe. Awesome bass fishing. 25 ft depth.

Thanks Brad and Freebyrd, I'm thinking of alternate fishing spots for when the big pond is too rough or I don't want to drop the 100plus bucks it takes to take out the big unit.

Thanks Paul

The Sandusky Bay and River are two of the best kept secrets in the world when it comes to largemouth fishing. Spring crappie and white bass are also hot in the spring, April for crappie and May for white bass when they run up the river. The largemouth fishing on the bay and river is phenomenol and just now being talked about. Still hardly fished though.

Erie skipper, Thanks for the info. Now you really got me fired up!

Spring can't get here fast enough.

Any particular techniques for the LMB in the spring on the bay?

Paul

I'm personally not into largemouth fishing, but there are plenty of local bait stores etc that can answer questions--I'm not sure, given the lack of lmb fishermen that anyone has really found the best baits yet; I just know that more people are doing it every year and there are some bay tournaments now as well.

Paul, I would be very interested in any additional information you can obtain on Sandusky Bay bass fishing. My brother bought a 18' aluminum boat and we are planning on hitting some areas in Sandusky Bay for bass. I'll pass on any information I can, please do the same.

Thanks,
Russ

Hi Russ, I motored around the bay all day yesterday. The water was like chocolate milk and I never even tossed a line.

But, some areas sure looked good for fishing.

If and when I go I'll e mail you with the results.
