Default Lake Ontario Port

Lake Michigan has Ludington & Manistee for good fishing July & August, what about Lake Ontario? Were planning a trip sometime late July early August on Lake Ontario for big kings. We'll be slipping the boat (27 footer) so a Harbor with electric, showers, good docks would be great. ANy suggestions on where top go?

How far east do you want to come on the lake? I fish the east as do many of the Lake O guys here. I would say if you wanted to come as far as the east end, then Oswego would be a good spot to stay. If you wanted to stay on the west end, then Oak Orchard is a great place also, deep water real close, steelies galore along with the kings.

Pulaski / Port Ontario is another great area to fish out of. It's just a little east of Oswego. Further north is Henderson Harbor which I've caught a ton of walleye and bass out of but I'm not sure how the king fishing is that time of year.

I would agree with Seaduction. Those are your 2 best bets for Kings in July, August time frame. Keep us posted here and we will let you know whats going on during that time.

Try Olcott, Wilson, Oak Orchard---all are just east of Buffalo and all are good producers

I'll second the Olcott, and Wilson, ports, and also Point Breeze.

The king fishing is pretty steady most of the year at these ports, and the steelhead fishing is the best on the lake.

Spring king fishing is phenomenal, from the Niagara bar to Olcott, and remains good thru the fall.Several rivers and creeks like the Niagara river, and eighteen mile creek ,attract good numbers of kings.
We fish it all year, and july and august are very good for kings, and great for steelies.
It is also much less crowded than the eastern part of the lake.
