Used to go along with my older brother to Lake Ontario. We used to launch on the Niagra river, close to the fort. Trailered my Proline up there back in '01 (or was it '02). Launched out of Wilson. Only caught two kings in a day-and-a-half on the water. Have been thinking of dragging my Grady up there for a trip or two this year. If so, may be looking for some fishing advice (cause I need all I can get).

Live in London, but son lives in Oakville. I trailered my Grady down, to Oakville last summer and docked at Bronte Outer Harbour. Beautiful marina. Left boat there for a couple of weeks. Had great results with rainbow, lots of small ones but not a lot of large bows. Salmon was great. Will fish out of Bronte this August in the Salmon Derby. Who knows, maybe even win something. I think the largest salmon caught last summer for the derby was 34 lbs. Dwain

I fish out of Olcott in april and may. And Mexico bay the rest of the year! You cant beat Western Lake Ontario Spring King fishing! I am sure this would cause a ruckous here on this site with the saltys but it is the best fishing in the North East period in the month of may!!

Brad1 Id be glad to help you.

I also fish Lake Ontario, keep my boat at the Olcott/town of newfane marina. We fish there all season. The king fishing in may last year, was phenomenal for us, from Olcot to the Niagara bar.
Offshore Steelhead fishing also seemed to be better than in previous years ,and the spring Coho fishing was super,we didn't get many big ones, but we got lots of them.

If any of you are on the water give us a shout on the radio. We answer to reel easy.Good luck to all on the water this year.

I fished Ontario a lot in the late 80's but marraige and a kid put a damper on that..daughter will be out of college soon and I look forward to going back. I have a friend that fishes it about every other weekend in the spring and late summer out of Olcott where I fished exclusively back then. I had a few 40 lbers along with some huge trout, like to see if the tricks I learned years back still work today.

Brian,
Glad to see you are here, the lake is churning bad today. 8-10's. Snowing. We fish the east end also, not sure if I am fishing the wilson area this year. Great fishing there in May, just sweet. Glad they gave us a place to chat here.

Brian,
Lol, I have been here for atleast 2 years now, alot of great info on this site. I may make a run for a couple days after the LOC. I want to go, but I also want to fish the river for steelies, it is going to be an awesome spring, no matter where you are. If I decide to venture out, I will let you know, can't wait to see that rig of yours once it is all decked out.
Hi Erin.

No rich I haven't I'm thinking the 3rd week in may out of Wilson but I'm not sure I want to call that guy you told me about to see if he has any rooms. I want to be flexible because of the weather so it could be any where around then I will let you know what is going on.
