Default Florida Keys Charter Fishing

I am planning a trip to the Keys this October and am going to try to work in a little fishing if possible. Can any of you give me an idea of what my options would be in late October. I would like to target sailfish, but I'm afraid I might be a little early for that. Any suggestions on Charter Boat Captains or what species to target during that timeframe? Many thanks!

The Florida Keys are +/- 150 miles long - ie. a 3 hr drive fromn one end to the other. Care to say where in the Keys you will be?

That is still flexible and is somewhat dependant upon what I hear back from this board regarding recommendations. But I had planned on fishing out of Islamorada for obvious reasons.

Well, I am sorry, but I still don't follow you. Islamorada is a great fishing destination in the Florida Keys, but what are the "obvious reasons" you elude to?

The fact that "Islamorada is a great fishing destination" is what I am eluding to. Thanks for your valuable input.

Only the hippies in Key West are this crabby...maybe you should come all the way to the end of US1. For that matter, all of the keys are "great fishing destinations", and Key West is probably better because you can head further west where its tougher for everyone to get to and overfish.

October is usually a transition period in the keys. Sometimes fishing is tough.
