Default The 2017 Official Abacos thread

After verifying last year's thread starter did not want to start this year's, I will start it.

Planning on crossing June 3 from Lake Park marina (WPB) or Harbour Towne.

We are headed from WPB on 6/12 to Marsh, stop at West End to clear. Hope to see others around, we will be over until 6/20.

Looking forward to reports and advice from everyone that has done this before, this will be our first trip to the Abacos!

Did the trip last year in my 30GF. Awesome boat for over there. Happy to share any info that could be helpful. I have it all down to a hotel in WPB.

Interested to hear about the WPB hotel.

Also, if anybody has info on that; I will be towing the boat with my truck, and I can park truck and trailer at Lake Park marina. My wife and kids will be traveling in my wife's car, so where can she park? I don't think Lake Park offers long term parking for cars, even though she has a handicapped tag.
I will call them tomorrow and ask, and post an update.

Anyone ever anchored overnight at Great Sale Cay??? I've heard there is a blue hole off of that island. Might be fun to snorkel. I've always passed by it en route to another island. No experience with it.
Anyway, I'm thinking a night on the hook might be fun there if the WX is good. Any rough WX and we'll just keep on motoring.

You'll do fine.
If you have the option, pick your day, rather than have your stay pick your day.

Youtube videos of ski's and flats running over. Go with buddy boats and there will be no concerns on the right day
